Fear of bats (chiroptophobia)
A fear of bats can show up at dusk, in lofts, caves and gardens or even when you hear fluttering. It is a less common fear, but it can feel very strong, and it can be helped.
What it feels like
- Avoiding being outside at dusk
- Feeling panicky about bats in the loft
- Flinching at fluttering or squeaking sounds
Common questions
Are bats actually dangerous?
In the UK, bats are protected and are not usually a risk to people. A phobia is not about logic, though, so knowing that does not always stop the fear. That is where we can work together.
How can you help?
I use hypnotherapy and NLP to change how your mind responds to the thing you fear, so the old alarm stops going off. Sessions are one to one over Zoom, and you get a recording of the hypnosis to listen to afterwards.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients notice a real difference after one 90 minute session. If the fear goes back a long way, three sessions gives us room to make the change stick.
