Fear of ghosts (phasmophobia)
A fear of ghosts can show up in the dark, in old houses, on a night alone or after a scary film. It can make bedtime hard, and it can be helped.
What it feels like
- Feeling watched in empty rooms at night
- Keeping lights on to fall asleep
- Avoiding old buildings or ghost stories
Common questions
Do I have to believe in ghosts to fear them?
No. Many people who do not believe in ghosts still feel frightened in the dark or after a creepy story. The fear response is real even when your logic says there is nothing there, and that is what we work with.
How can you help?
I use hypnotherapy and NLP to change how your mind responds to the thing you fear, so the old alarm stops going off. Sessions are one to one over Zoom, and you get a recording of the hypnosis to listen to afterwards.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients notice a real difference after one 90 minute session. If the fear goes back a long way, three sessions gives us room to make the change stick.
