Fear of clusters of holes (trypophobia)

Trypophobia is a strong reaction to clusters of small holes or bumps, like a lotus seed head, honeycomb or a sponge. For many people it’s more disgust than fear.

What it feels like

  • Skin crawling at certain patterns
  • Feeling sick or itchy looking at images
  • Avoiding some foods, plants or textures

Common questions

Where does it come from?

Some researchers think these patterns resemble signs of disease or danger, which may explain the disgust. Images shared online have made many more people aware of it.

How do sessions work?

I use hypnotherapy and NLP to change how your mind responds to clusters of holes. Sessions are one to one over Zoom, and you get a recording of the hypnosis to listen to afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

Many clients notice a real difference after one 90 minute session. If the fear goes back a long way, three sessions gives us room to make the change stick.
