Fear of being without a mobile phone (nomophobia)

A fear of being without your mobile phone can show up when the battery is low, the signal drops or you leave it at home. Many people feel a little uneasy, but for some it becomes real panic. It can be helped.

What it feels like

  • Panicking when the battery is low
  • Checking your phone again and again
  • Feeling lost or unsafe without it

Common questions

Is nomophobia a real condition?

The name comes from “no mobile phone phobia” and is not a formal diagnosis. The anxiety people feel is still real, and if it is getting in the way of your day, it is worth working on.

How can you help?

I use hypnotherapy and NLP to change how your mind responds to the thing you fear, so the old alarm stops going off. Sessions are one to one over Zoom, and you get a recording of the hypnosis to listen to afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

Many clients notice a real difference after one 90 minute session. If the fear goes back a long way, three sessions gives us room to make the change stick.
